Windshield Replacement Services

Overview

About Windshield Replacement Services

Rely on our windshield replacement expertise for safe, precision installations using structurally correct polyurethane adhesive systems. We ensure every replacement meets OEM specifications for structural integrity, ADAS recalibration readiness, and long-term seal durability — providing peace of mind for both fleet operators and end customers.

Modern windshield replacement is far more complex than simply fitting a new piece of glass. The windshield is a critical structural component — contributing up to 60% of cabin structural rigidity in a rollover event and serving as the deployment backstop for passenger-side airbags. Correct adhesive selection, primer application, and safe drive-away time compliance are essential for occupant safety. With the proliferation of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) cameras and sensors mounted on or near the windshield, precision installation and subsequent recalibration have become equally critical.

Process

Our Process

01

Remove the damaged windshield carefully using a cut-out wire or reciprocating tool. Avoid damaging the pinchweld flange.

02

Inspect the pinchweld for corrosion and treat with rust converter and primer if necessary. The pinchweld must be structurally sound.

03

Remove old adhesive to the correct depth — leave a thin (1–2 mm) layer of cured PU adhesive on the pinchweld to act as a bonding substrate.

04

Apply the correct glass primer to the ceramic frit band and body primer to the pinchweld. Observe the specified flash-off times for each primer.

05

Apply a continuous, unbroken bead of PU adhesive using the recommended nozzle profile. Ensure no voids or gaps in the adhesive bead.

06

Set the glass within the specified open time. Apply consistent pressure around the full perimeter. Install retention clips or tape as required.

07

Do not release the vehicle before the Safe Drive-Away Time has elapsed. Inform the customer of any post-installation precautions.

ADAS Recalibration Readiness

Vehicles equipped with windshield-mounted cameras and sensors (forward collision warning, lane departure, autonomous braking) require precise recalibration after glass replacement. Incorrect windshield positioning or adhesive shrinkage can cause ADAS misalignment. Our installation process follows OEM specifications for glass positioning tolerances to ensure recalibration can be completed accurately.

Fleet Glass Management

For fleet operators managing hundreds or thousands of vehicles, we provide structured glass management programmes — including preferred adhesive system standardisation, technician training, quality audit protocols, and volume-based pricing. Consistent use of correct adhesive systems reduces windshield re-work rates and warranty claims.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does adhesive selection matter for windshield replacement?

The windshield adhesive is a safety-critical component. It must bond the glass to the vehicle structure with enough strength to retain the windshield during a collision and support passenger airbag deployment. Using incorrect adhesive or inadequate primer systems can result in glass ejection in a crash — a life-threatening failure.

What is Safe Drive-Away Time?

Safe Drive-Away Time (SDAT) is the minimum time after installation before the vehicle can be safely driven. It varies from 1 hour to 24+ hours depending on the adhesive system, ambient temperature, and humidity. Fast-cure systems can achieve 1-hour SDAT under optimal conditions, while standard systems typically require 6–12 hours.

Do you handle ADAS recalibration?

We provide ADAS recalibration guidance and ensure our installation process meets the glass positioning tolerances required for accurate recalibration. Actual ADAS recalibration is performed by the vehicle dealer or a qualified calibration centre using OEM-specified equipment and targets.

Can you replace windshields on fleet vehicles?

Yes. We specialise in fleet windshield replacement with standardised adhesive systems, trained technicians, and quality protocols designed for high-volume, consistent service delivery. Contact us to discuss fleet glass management programmes.
